"Quoting" the Book

These are a collection of a couple of my favourite quotes from my favourite books. Some are deep, some are sweet and some are just funny. Hopefully it will inspire you to take a closer look at a couple of them.

Enjoy!

“In your world, I have another name. You should know me by it.”

C.S. Lewis, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

“You are too generous to trifle with me. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes are unchanged; but one word from you will silence me on this subject forever.”

Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

"No one really needs me," he says, and there's no self pity in his voice. It's true his family doesn't need him. They will mourn him, as will a handful of friends. But they will get on... I realise only one person will be damaged beyond repair if Peeta dies. Me.

"I do," I say. "I need you."

Suzanne Collins (Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2))

"The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again: but already it was impossible to say which was which."

George Orwell, The Animal Farm

"And so the lion fell in love with the lamb…" he murmured. I looked away, hiding my eyes as I thrilled to the word.

"What a stupid lamb," I sighed.

"What a sick, masochistic lion."

Stephenie Meyer (Twilight (Twilight, #1))

“Tri rudan a thig gun iarraidh: an t-eagal, an t-eudach’s an gaol. (Three things that come without asking: fear, love and jealousy.)”

― Peter May, The Blackhouse

“I saw something in you that I couldn't live without. I chose you, inside of me, and you chose me. It's not one-sided, it only works when both people choose the other. You are perfect for me in every way.”

― Shelly Crane, Significance

I find myself taking a few steps backward. Grief can be contagious and I have enough problems of my own.

Oyinkan Braithwaite, My Sister the Serial Killer

"Sarcasm is the last refuge of the imaginatively bankrupt."

Cassandra Clare (City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1))

“Harry witnessed Professor McGonagall walking right past Peeves who was determinedly loosening a crystal chandelier and could have sworn he heard her tell the poltergeist out of the corner of her mouth, 'It unscrews the other way.”

J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
